Whether teching your way up a run-out granite slab or hucking laps on the splitters at Indian Creek, the Aspect is an engineered trad climbing machine. Built with the highest grade European leather upper, the Aspects balance comfort with performance using innovative designs that subtly set it apart. Lace up a pair and you'll notice that the leather upper slightly covers the laces on the outside of the foot-specifically designed for protection during abrasive jamming. The shoe's tongue is made from our Engineered Knit Technology, which adds breathability and comfort. The knit also extends to the outside of the shoe to just under the rand line to offer extra padded protection for foot jams. The lateral stabilizer rands increase precision by keeping your foot from rolling when pressure is applied to the outside or inside edges. The Aspect's stiff and durable rubber is unique in that it's molded-inspired by the way we forge our carabiners-and not cut from one sheet of rubber. This is our engineered solution to optimize our shoe's rubber and rands for weight, consistency and comfort. The Aspect's medium-flex midsole adds support without sacrificing comfort. So next time you're eyeing that trad line, consider the Aspects a part of your rack. Get the whole story here.

Internal Lace Protection System for crack climbing
I was looking for a pair of trad shoes for high country slab and crack climbing to replace my old "go to" trad shoes that were worn out. These turned out to be perfect for me. Tried them out first on plactic holds and wasn't too impressed. But I decided to give them a try on some granite slabs anyway. I was shocked by how great they were on granite. My slab climbing (which is definitely one of my weaknesses) improved dramatically in these shoes. They stick to granite like glue!!!!! My climbing partner (who happens to be a climbing guide) decided that she needs to try a pair of these, after watching me climb in them. Next I tried them in some splitter cracks. Soooo much better than any other shoes I have tried. And believe me, I have tried a LOT of climbing shoes over the years. Less painful foot jams. Plus the low toe profile makes the easier to slide into thinner cracks. I wear about a 7.5 in women's street shoes (on average). I wear a women's 7.5 in La Sportivas. I wear anywhere from a women's 8 - 9 in most other brands of climbing shoes. I bought these in a 7 (these are men's sizes). They were very snug at first, and painful against my Achilles. I thought at first that I might have to go up half a size. But after a few days of solid climbing they stretched to mold to my foot. Now they are my new "go to" shoe for trad climbing. So glad I tried them.
